KEMA & HOKA

Kema and Hoka are two Lesula monkeys who were confiscated by soldiers at the Kahodi checkpoint in Sankuru. They were accompanied by Hianga, a black-crested mangabey, and Wete, a red-tailed monkey. All four were being trafficked and were about to be sold by the traffickers.

The four monkeys were seized and handed over to APPACOL-PRN, where they received immediate first care.

Kema had a rope cutting into his hips. After the rope was removed, Mr. MPO discovered an infected open wound, which he treated for several days. Thanks to the dedicated care of the entire team on the ground, Kema has made a full recovery.

Thank you, Héritier and the APPACOL-PRN team, for everything you do for these animals.
