« LODJA 6 », they have arrived!

The 16 primates we recently told you about have arrived at JACK. Exhausted , traumatized and dehydrated, they found a loving and dedicated team all waiting to take them in and care for them. Sadly, two young ones did not survive: a white-nosed guenon passed away the night before the journey, and another guenon succumbed during a flight change between Lodja and Lubumbashi…

Our deepest thanks go to all the people and organizations involved in rescuing and transporting these orphans. Though fund the transport portion to our sanctuary, we are still in need of funds, as now we must go through the long rehabilitate period for these victims of the illegal trade, providing them with nutritious food, veterinary care, and the comforting arms of caregivers and surrogate mothers to help them rediscover the will to live.

In the coming days, we will share the stories of some of these individuals, because the world must know the suffering these animals endure in the name of human greed.

Thank you for reading and stay tuned for more details about these orphans who have lost everything and long to be loved and well looked after.
