SHASA is our « big » girl as she is the oldest female we have at J.A.C.K. She isn’t blind in one eye… The second eye is healthy and « inside » as a result of a terrible shock she had the day she was legally confiscated in Kinshasa by DRC Environment officials… Her owner/trader ran away when seeing the police and hit the bag in which he had hidden the baby ape. When the environment inspectors opened the bag, they discovered Shasa’s left eye was bleeding…
