Thank You GAIA NATURE FUND for the building of an external enclosure for the swamp monkeys

The swamp monkeys (Allenopithecus nigroviridis) used to live in a group with other primates, but as they grew older and stronger, the other species became more territorial and began to give the swamp monkeys a hard time. Since then, the latter, including a baby, have been living at the private home of the founders of the Congolese NGO. Mera, Allen and Leke are three young swamp monkeys eagerly awaiting facilities to meet their needs.

GAIA NATURE FUND has kindly contributed to the development of the external enclosure for the young swamp monkeys who recently arrived during the latest rescue missions in Sankuru province.

This support helped us to start the basic work, including masonry work to lay the foundations in which the pipes for the aviary’s framework could be anchored.

However, the work was stopped due to a lack of funds. Our young swamp monkeys will have to be patient before they can move into their new enclosure.

J.A.C.K. and its residents are grateful to GAIA NATURE FUND, its Management, Team and Donors for their trust and generosity.
