Dear All,
Most of you know what happened to baby Tommy. Since the surgery of October 2010, this little one has had heavy medication and the wounds had to be cleaned every day to get rid of the infection.
Vet Jean-Claude and vet assistant Francis assisted us a lot and we are grateful for their patience, devotion and help. Remember, J.A.C.K. vets are volunteers and do work with their hearts !!
Today, the wounds appear to be cleared up of any infection and we are now waiting for a total recovery (one of the two wounds has already closed up completely!).
Tommy is still wearing a bandage to prevent dust, dirt and any kind of bacteria to be in touch with the open wound.
Also, regular X-Rays have to be taken to see if the bone is healing and our vets were delighted to see the good progress on the latest X-Rays.
You can see by yourself: if you compare the first picture and the second one, you’ll note that the humerus is gaining a better shape…

Once Tommy’s wounds are completely healed up, he’ll be introduced to the infant group along with his two mates: Nalia & Ekolo. This will be a very important event to all of us of the J.A.C.K. team as Tommy’s arm has been a real struggle against bone infection.
I’ll update as soon as Tommy is ready to go back to the sanctuary. We all hope this dream will come true very soon !!!
It’s feeding time for the chimps. I have to go,
Thank You,
Roxane/J.A.C.K.
Wonderful news!I am thrilled to hear this!
Bravo à toute l’équipe!!!
