TIKA INTRODUCED TO THE NURSERY GROUP
Since young male TIKA refused the rules of dominant MWISHO, he was set aside by the whole group: he was beaten up and chased at the different feeding times. Also, TIKA could no longer rely on best friend KALA who didn’t protect him any more fearing to lose his rank in the group. TIKA started to loose some weight and self confidence.
Therefore, Roxane decided to take him out of MWISHOs group in order to introduce him to the Nursery group. Roxane & team patiently worked with TIKA: she wanted him to be physically and mentally strong to face news changes in his life. The task didnt look very easy since the team didn’t know how TIKA would behave with younger orphaned chimpanzees and if the babies would accept this older newcomer..
